I. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
The University runs the Pre-Degree Programme as an intensive one year programme with the fundamental objective of encouraging our young men and women who due to one reason or the other could not gain admission into any University through JAMB.
The available degree options currently offered in the programme includes: Agriculture: Agric. Economics, Agric. Extension, Forestry and Wildlife, Crop Science, Animal Science, Fisheries; Science: Botany, Biochemistry, Zoology, Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, Microbiology, Physics; Social Sciences: Geography and Regional Planning, Library and Information Science, Arts: French, Fine & Applied Arts, Urhobo, Music, and Education Courses in Mathematics, Physics; Chemistry, Biology, Agriculture, Technical Studies, Geography, French, Fine Art, Music, Home Economics, Library Science; Engineering; Pharmacy; Faculty of Health Sciences: Nursing, Medical Biochemistry, Anatomy, Pharmacology and Physiology.
The Curriculum in each of these courses is specially designed to prepare the students for a smooth entry into the 100 level programme in their respective degree options.

1. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
(a) Candidates should possess credits in five relevant subjects in the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination or its equivalent at not more than two sittings. The subjects should include English Language. A credit in Mathematics is also compulsory for all science based courses.
(b) Specific Departmental admission requirements are as indicated in the UME brochure for Delta State University, Abraka.
2. ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS
Selection of candidates for the various courses shall be based on a General Aptitude Test. The Aptitude Test shall be conducted at the Delta State University, Abraka.
3. MATERIALS REQUIRED FOR WRITING THE ENTRANCE EXAMINATION
Candidates are expected to come with the following materials, without which they would not be allowed into the examination venues.
a. The printed photo card
b. HB Pencil
c. Calculator
